Connecting your Gateway to a Federation

Once you've provisioned the Lightning Gateway and set up some channels on the Lightning Node, you're ready to connect to a Federation. We only recommend connecting to Federations you're an active community member of, and unless you're a more established routing node, we recommend only connecting your Gateway to one Federation at a time.

You'll need an Invite Code from one of the Federation Guardians (the same you use to connect from Fedi).

Enter the on Thunderhub under "Connect to a Federation" and click "Connect".

You can also connect to multiple federations, just go to the "Federations" tab and add the invite code for each federation you want to connect to.

Fedimint hasn't implemented "Leaving" a Federation yet, so if you want to leave a Federation, you'll need to contact the Guardians and ask them to remove you from the Federation via the fedimint-cli. (This will be implemented soon!)
