Fedi users hold a balance of ecash notes in their wallets: 1-1 blinded claims against onchain Bitcoin reserves pegged into the Fedimint. Via Lightning Gateways, Fedi users can use that ecash to send and receive Lightning Transactions, creating interoperability with the wider Bitcoin Network.
